Hudson’s Bay and Lord & Taylor Spring into Action to Launch The New Private Brand 424 FIFTH, Nationwide

Toronto, ON – Arriving just in time for Spring, Hudson’s Bay & Lord & Taylor introduce their new private brand, 424 Fifth. Inspired by Lord & Taylor’s rich American sportswear heritage and named after the retailer’s iconic Manhattan address, 424 Fifth is designed to appeal to women of all ages combining of-the-moment fashion and timeless style. This spirited collection of clothing and accessories brings trend-right pieces from Hudson’s Bay and Lord & Taylor to women who have a distinct fashion point-of-view.

“The 424 Fifth collection offers a full lifestyle collection for the modern woman,” said Mary Turner, Executive Vice President of Specialty for Hudson’s Bay Company. “The collection fills what we believe to be a void in the marketplace for stylish, wearable, well-priced fashion. We feel strongly that our core customer is underserved in this market and, as such, we are committed to building 424 Fifth as a compelling women’s brand to satisfy this need.” The Spring 2014 collection ranges from basic accessories to essential “must have” items – including pieces that are suitable for day-to-evening, and statement fashion items which range from $29 – $300 CDN.

The collection includes dresses, skirts, tops, blouses, sweaters, pants, outerwear and accessories, is fabric-driven and focuses on beautiful yet durable textiles to best complement the garments and the body. It features luxurious looks, while maintaining a sense of both versatility and wearability, at affordable price points.

Early Spring themes are focused on a bold, black-and-white, graphic story – epitomizing minimalist chic, combined with bold architectural elements. Pops of color include cobalt blue, jade green, and cherry red which add a vibrant touch to classic black and white silhouettes. Late Spring, available in March and April, offers a softer, more feminine silhouette. While predominantly ivory and black, this selection will feature an abundance of floral and digitally printed patterns highlighted with electric pink, blue, and mint pastels, mixed with bright citron accents.

The collection will be available in store at all 91 Hudson’s Bay stores across Canada, including and at Lord & Taylor in the US. In addition to retailing online at lordandtaylor.com and thebay.com, full concept shops for 424 Fifth will be launching in both Toronto and New York in 2014.
