Hudson’s Bay Company Ranked One of 50 Best Corporate Citizens in Canada for Second Consecutive Year

TORONTO, ON (June 20, 2016) – Hudson’s Bay Company is pleased to announce it has been selected as one of Corporate Knights Magazine’s Best 50 Corporate Citizens in Canada, for the second year in a row. The annual ranking, now in its 15th year, sets the standard for corporate citizenship in Canada, recognizing companies that implement responsible business practices based on environmental, social, and governance benchmarks. HBC ranked 43 overall, and is one of only three retailers recognized on the 2016 list.

Each year, HBC publishes a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) report, highlighting the Company’s efforts and accomplishments in a number of areas of social responsibility, including: investing in communities where HBC operates, contributing to a sustainable environment, sourcing responsibly and ethically, and strengthening associate engagement. HBC’s 2015 CSR report will be published in June 2016.
