Hudson’s Bay Sponsors Canada Day in Ottawa!

TORONTO, ON (June 29, 2015) Hudson’s Bay is an Official Sponsor of the Canada Day celebrations in Ottawa and Title Sponsor of the Main Canada Day Stage in Major’s Hill Park.

From 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, the general public is invited to stop by the Hudson’s Bay tent at Major Hill’s Park.  Visitors will have the chance to take a surfing-inspired selfie, enter to win a $1000 shopping spree, get an “I Heart Canada” tattoo and shop select striped merchandise in the pop-up shop.  10% of sales will go to support the Canadian Olympic Foundation.

In addition, from 3pm to 4pm, visitors can meet and take a photo with Émilie Heymans, four-time Olympic medallist in Diving.

In the evening, from 6:30pm to 11pm, ticket holders will be granted access to the VIP Experience at the Hudson’s Bay Tent.  Guests will have a great view of the Hudson’s Bay Stage and enjoy live entertainment from Caracol and Shad, and have a prime spot to watch the fireworks.

About Émilie Heymans

As Canada’s first athlete to earn medals in four straight summer Olympic Games, Émilie Heymans is one of this country’s most accomplished Olympians. The St. Lambert, Que. native collected a bronze medal at the London 2012 Games in the 3m synchronized springboard with partner Jennifer Abel, marking Canada’s first medal of the Games and adding to a legendary resume. Heymans made her Olympic debut at Sydney 2000 where she won silver with Anne Montminy in the 10m synchronized platform. After being crowned 10m platform world champion in 2003, Heymans returned to the Games at  Athens 2004 with new platform synchro partner, Blythe Hartley, to win bronze. At  Beijing 2008 she claimed her first individual Olympic medal, a 10m platform silver. Heymans and Abel had an impressive season in 2011, winning a silver medal at the FINA World Championships in Shanghai. The pair matched that finish later in the year  at the Pan American Games in Guadalajara. Heymans rounded out the year with a world championship silver in the 3m springboard. The seven-time Pan American Games medallist topped her first podium at Winnipeg 1999 in the 10m platform. At  Santo Domingo 2003 she earned gold from the 10m platform in both the synchro and individual events, adding gold in the 3m synchro springboard and a silver in 3m springboard. She claimed another Pan Am gold at Rio 2007 in the 10m synchro platform. To add to her decorated list of accomplishments, Heymans is also a five-time Commonwealth Games medallist.
