Lord & Taylor Launches Prom Shops in All 50 Stores

New York, NY – (February 23, 2016) – Lord & Taylor is excited to announce one-stop prom shops in all 50 stores this spring. The shops will bring together the season’s top styles—from dresses and handbags to shoes and undergarments, along with tuxedos for the guys—offering teens and their parents a more convenient and streamlined shopping experience.

Following the success of last year’s inaugural all-store prom fashion shows, each Lord & Taylor location will host a 2016 prom fashion presentation on Saturday, March 5. Local high school students will walk in the shows to feature this season’s top prom trends and styles.

“This spring, prom dresses are even more fashion-forward than in seasons’ past,” stated Stephanie Solomon, Lord & Taylor’s fashion director, womenswear. “The fashion shows will highlight the key trends, including two-piece offerings of crop tops and high-waisted skirts, lace overlays, and off-the-shoulder dresses, as well as romantic hues,” she added.

“For the guys this season, prom is about stand-out tuxedos, modern silhouettes and a focus on separates,” Nelson Mui, fashion director, menswear of Lord & Taylor contributed. He went on to add, “we’ll have more options for the risk-taker – whether it’s a jacket in a metallic fabric, or one with velvet accents – as well as plenty of styles for the traditionalist – for example, a shawl collar white tux paired with a classic black trouser or pique lapel single-button tux in navy.”

To assist in generating excitement and awareness for the prom fashion shows, Lord & Taylor will conduct social media contests encouraging students to upload prom related photos to Twitter or Instagram using their school’s designated hashtag. The school with the most entries will be awarded $10,000 to use towards its prom budget. As an added layer to the social media campaign, the female with the most entries will win glam squad services the day of her prom, and the male with the most entries will win free limousine service to his prom.

Lord & Taylor will further support prom through its widely-distributed catalog, which delivers in-home beginning February 29 and features Model and Actor, Cody Saintgnue. The prom campaign images will also appear in stores and in’s dedicated prom boutique.
