Roopal Patel Named Fashion Director of Saks Fifth Avenue

NEW YORK (September 10, 2015) – Saks Fifth Avenue today announced that Roopal Patel has been appointed Fashion Director of Saks Fifth Avenue, effective immediately.  A strategic fashion consultant, Ms. Patel’s appointment will strengthen the role of the newly shaped Fashion Office at Saks, within the merchant organization, fashion industry and ultimately consumers.  She will report to Tracy Margolies, Chief Merchant of Saks Fifth Avenue.

Ms. Patel will play a key role in forecasting the trends that underpin all of Saks’ buying activities, articulating the store’s seasonal fashion message, and scouting fresh designers and collections.  She joins Saks Fifth Avenue from Roopal Patel Consulting, a creative consultancy she founded in 2012, with a focus on brand development and positioning, merchandising retail strategy, and trend forecasting.  She spent more than a decade at Neiman Marcus, where she served as Senior Fashion Director of Bergdorf Goodman as well as Senior Accessory Market Editor for Neiman Marcus.  More recently she was Executive Fashion Director of the innovative luxury fashion e-tailer Moda Operandi.
