Saks Fifth Avenue Unveils New Men’s Store in San Francisco
San Francisco, CA (April 17, 2015) – Beginning in Fall 2016, Saks Fifth Avenue San Francisco will relocate its Men’s Store at 220 Post Street to the retailer’s own legendary flagship in Union Square. With an exciting new renovation plan, Saks Fifth Avenue San Francisco will offer a reimagined shopping experience with an elevated merchandise selection to bring its clients the best-in-class brand offerings and designer presentations. The Men’s Store’s new design will bring merchandise to life with a focus on Advanced Designer and International Classic collections.
Housing all product categories under one roof will create a more cohesive and inclusive environment for customers and associates. An edited assortment of contemporary women’s collections and lingerie will move to 4 with a unique but minimal vision that will highlight the store’s expansion with a modern relevance. Saks Fifth Avenue will continue to provide its world renowned service to customers throughout the renovation.
“Saks Fifth Avenue San Francisco has evolved tremendously over the years with the city’s electric energy and growth. Our goal is to create an exemplary space that will propel our products forward and build a store that embodies the lively and formative spirit of San Francisco,” said Vice President, General Manager Robert Arnold-Kraft.
A Modern Haberdashery
Anchoring the Men’s Store on 5 will be a modern haberdashery inspired by the Library of Congress. The layout will emphasize an updated environment with a warm, rich material pallet of brass and bronze metals, cerused oak and handmade wall coverings inspired by men’s
suiting fabrics. Home to the Men’s International and Modern Classic Collections, the department will feature gray oak flooring repurposed in a herringbone pattern and floor-to-ceiling vitrines.
The newly renovated Men’s Store will also highlight Men’s Designer and Advanced Designer collections in an open environment devoted to the modern man. Taking cues from residential design, the new department will feature an eclectic mix of found and custom furniture, fixtures, and decorative lighting that will culminate into a uniquely West Coast adaptation of Saks Fifth Avenue. Unexpected pops of color, large windows and mid-century modern architectural elements will frame San Francisco’s famed Union Square as the backdrop to the new Men’s Store.
