TOPSHOP X Adidas Originals

TOPSHOP is bringing sportswear to Spring/Summer 2014 through collaboration with ADIDAS ORIGINALS. As sportswear continues making in-roads to high fashion, the TOPSHOP X ADIDAS collection leads the way, with re-imagined heritage icons for the new season.

The TOPSHOP design team worked with the ADIDAS ORIGINALS archives to produce the ultimate sport-fashion capsule collection. The iconic silhouette has been twisted as classics are re-defined; track vests feature dramatically scooped arm holes and casual pants and jackets are tailored to a slim fit.

Bespoke prints, designed by TOPSHOP’s in-house print designers and inspired by London landscapes, adorn ADIDAS sports heroes such as the 3-Stripe track pants, Firebird track top, Superstar shoe and the iconic 3-Stripe mark itself.

The 20 piece collection features tactile fabrics throughout; silky, ultrafine cupro and lightweight tricot add texture to hoodies and super-hot all in ones, while vests and tees combine printed mesh and colour blocked cotton panels. The contrast of draped jersey and super-soft French terry update classic basketball pieces. Sexy and slouchy fits exist side-by-side to create a strong aesthetic. Sports details accent the collection as contours are traced with techno seaming and concealed pockets.

Footwear also features as three originals favourites: the Superstar, the Tech Super and the Attitude are recreated in luxury leathers. Signature prints dominate in soft corals, field green and gritty monochromes.

Characterised by minimalistic styling and London infused motifs, the collaboration celebrates TOPSHOP’s love for London and ADIDAS’ reputation as the ultimate sports label in British street culture.
